Chairman of Mining & Energy

Professor Maizar Rahman is an Indonesian petroleum expert. He once served as Chairman of the OPEC Board of Governors, and Acting Secretary General of OPEC. Maizar completed his undergraduate education in the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Gadjah Mada University, Yogyakarta.

Then he continued to the École Nationale Supérieure de Pétrole et des Moteurs, Institut Français du Pétrole Paris, until he obtained a Diplôme Ingénieur degree. There he also obtained a Doctor Ingénieur degree in Sciences Pétrolières. In addition to being a researcher and director of Lemigas, President Commissioner of PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical, he also served as a commissioner of Pertamina.

Professor Maizar Rahman also has several important works for the global oil industry. His most famous works are "Pertamina Corporate Restructuring: From Legacy to New Imperatives, 2003" and "From Research to Corporations and Energy Diplomacy." His presence and impact on the development of the oil industry in Indonesia are significant and have been recognized globally.
